I hope this Newsletter finds you healthy and happy.
When a New Year begins it is always a great opportunity to reflect upon our life
: to see where we are, be grateful for what we have and to sen
d out some new wishes. It is a great time to make some few changes we have been wanting, but that have got pushed aside.


This newsletter is a little different from the previous ones. For some time I have been wanting to share some information with you, without sounding extreme or harsh, but I wasn’t sure how to, since the subject seems to elevate my blood temperature just by thinking about it.

So please bear with
me. :)

My take o
n it might seem bold to some, crazy or exaggerated to others… but for me it is like knowing that cigarettes are bad for our health (when no one else knows) and keeping the information to myself.

When I started working, about 2 years ago, my first client was takings statin pills to lower her Cholesterol, calcium for strong bones, aspirin to dilute her blood … does any of this sound familiar? After being open to educating herself about the horrible side effects of Statins and other prescription drugs (some side effects of which she was already suffering from, like muscle aching, knee joint problems, muscle weakening of the face) and further understanding about the multi-billion $ business of the pharmaceutical companies in collaboration with the government, medical establishment and media, all having definite interests other than solely treating our health, she was very courageous and decided to take control of her own health, giving up all those pills and starting to live a healthy lifestyle, thereby letting her body do the work.
The Cholesterol as such is not the problem and by eating abundant green leaves which are full of calciu
m, the blood is diluted naturally.

The Cholesterol Myth

Why has there never been a record of Cholesterol blocking veins? And what is it about arteries that makes Cholesterol attach itself to their walls? The answer might surprise you. The body actually uses Cholesterol as a kind of bandage to cover damages in the arterial walls just like it does for any other wound.
Cholesterol actually is a life saver!!


Recent studies show that there is no connection between food Cholesterol and blood Cholesterol. Unfortunately, high Cholesterol has become the dominating health concern of the 21st century. It is actually an invented disease, a trillion $ making business … Even the healthiest person might have “elevated” Cholesterol and a routine blood test will turn them overnight into patients. Feeling good is actually a symptom of high Cholesterol.
It is strange to be declared sick when you are actually feeling great.

The definition of a “healthy” level of Cholesterol has been repeatedly adjusted during the past 30 years.

Weird… don’t you think?

A person at risk used to be someone who was overweight, a smoker and with a level of Cholesterol over 240mg percent. In 1984 it was decided that anyone with a Cholesterol count of 200mg percent needs to be taking medication to lower it, although having a Cholesterol level of 260mg percent was considered completely healthy.
Later still, the official Cholesterol level was lowered to 180. Then to 150. In 2001 “they” decided not to measur
e overall Cholesterol and that the LDL (so called bad cholesterol) should be below 100. Now they are aiming to get the LDL below 70.
Every time they lower the target, the number of “patients” requiring treatment jumps dramatically.

To me something smells fishy…

Statins

These are drugs which inhibit the production of Cholesterol and lower it artificially.

n our body needs cholesterol:

- important for digestion and keeping us lean
- for brain development
- protects the nerves against damage or injury
- repairs da
maged arteries (that bandage mentioned earlier)
- it is the basic ingredient of most sexual hormones
- it is the essential substance the skin uses to form Vitamin D
and so much more…


Side effects of Statins:

- Blood sugar problems

- Difficulty in healing
- Allergies

- Asthma
- Reduced libido
- Infertility
- Brain damage
and much more…

Dangers of Low Cholesterol: risk for cancer, mental illness, stroke, suicide, liver disease, anemia and more…

Therefore, in a balanced way, why not consider these issues, ask questions, and take control of your health?
Make
gradual little steps in the right direction: real changes in your nutrition, lowe
ring your stress levels, along with some daily exercise.
These are all natural ways to achieve balance, without automatically turning to medications.

Monthly Focus: Balancing Cholesterol levels Naturally

As always nature gives us everything we need to live a happy, healthy and balanced life. Incorporate into your daily diet these great “medicines”: green tea, most fruits (apples, berries, citrus, apricots) and vegetables (especially carrots, cabbage, sweet potatoes), almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, olive oil, coconut oil, oats, barley, lemon rind, orange peel, shitake mushrooms, seaweed, ginger, cumin (eat it like your life depends on it), greens and omega3 fatty acids.

Recipe of the Month
A great warming lowering cholesterol zoupa

Ingredients:
2 Onions
2 Carrots
2 Sweet potato
1/2 Cup Lentils

2 Tbsp Cocon
ut Oil (can use Olive Oil)
1 Tsp Cumin
1 Tsp Turmeric
1/8 Tsp cinnamon

1/8 Tsp Cayenne

few cloves Garlic

2 Tbsp chopped fresh Ginger

1 Tbsp So
y sauce
Himalayan
Salt
Coriander freshly chopped to garnish


Chop onions coarsely and sauté in oil. Add carrots and sweet potato in small chunks, plus all other ingredients. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Simmer until veggies are soft or even better, turn off heat and allow veggies to sit covered until soft. Or use a pressure cooker. Right in the pot, blend with a hand held blender until creamy and smooth. Adjust flavor with additiona
l spices, coconut oil, soy sauce, and salt. Serve with fresh Coriander...
